Lightning is not for sale. She was a commission for the ever-lovely
Thank you for asking me to make her for you! I hope you like her!~
She's doneee! ~does a happy dance around the room~ She took me a lot
longer than I had initially planned for, but she was mostly cooperative and I love the end result so I'm good with it. I think she takes the prize for my most elaborate plush to date. which, good news, I'm no longer daunted by Loki's outfit now.
She's 17.5inches, and even with the new proportions, I had to leave a few elements off her costume because... not gonna lie, I totally ran out of room.
Her hair was originally white fur that I hand dyed a light pink, her zippers are all real zippers (except the one on her bag because I couldn't find one that small), most her buckles are real metal buckles, two are painted craft foam and one is a jewelery finding. She has lotssss of faux-leather - some of which, like the blue for her gloves, yellow for her belt and pink for her boots was handpainted because I couldn't source the right colours. Craft foam for her shoulder armour, boot straps and the random circles on the bottom of her jacket (idek what function they are supposed to serve). Her little gold thingies on her hands are made from draping fabric over cake-pop sticks and stiffening it. I think I used about a
dozen silver metal studs on her, too.
Her face is my now signature style of embroidery & handpainting - although I did have to alter the face just a little; the wide-eyed look I give most my dolls now just wasn't cutting it for Lightning, she looked a lot more like Serah.. not nearly surly/wounded/battle-hardened (whatever you want to call her
) enough, so I lowered the top eyeline just a tad.
Amazingly enough, she still stands on her own, although all that weight does make her want to lean forward a little. She didn't turn out quite as huggable as I was going for, but what she lacks in the squishable department, she makes up for in the ass-kicking department so it's all good.
